Don has gone home

This photo is from the joyous occasion of Tarah's 13th birthday....but don't tell Johnny he thinks it was his birthday. We lived, we laughed and we loved with all our hearts.............

Don Barclay, Tarah's paternal grandfather, passed away yesterday in a hospital in Frisco. He was surrounded by his family and friends. While his passing was sooner then we had expected he left this world the same way he lived it, on his own terms and in his own unique way. We are heartbroken at our loss of such an incredible Man of God, a Father, Grandfather and an amazing Friend. However, we will try to put that aside to remember that he is in a much better place where he can breathe easy and have the joy that he so richly deserves.

It will be awesome. The dates for this year are December 16th and 17th. My birthday {again}. I geuss I will celebrate the weekend after since the weeks leading up to it are insane!!!!! Kids weights and heights~~~

Johnny reading Daddy a story at bedtime, {Johnny's not Daddy's}.........

"If I sit up straight I can kick brother in the back!"

Meghan's favorite toy right now is a worm that Aunt Karen bought for Johnny when he was little.

Meghan sits up by herself in the Boppy! "How many toys can I chew on today?"

I forgot to mention that all three kids had a well child check-up on the 10th of August. Everyone is very healthy and Johnny and Tarah don't have to go back until next year.

Meghan is 18 lbs. and 27 inches long. She is in the 75th percentile. She is right on track. She is trying one new food every 3-4 days. So far she is not a big fan of solid food and only eats solids once, maybe twice a day. I am sure in a few months when she can feed herself finger foods it will be a whole new story.

Johnny 32 lbs. and 40 inches tall. Percentile wise he is officially very tall and skinny. He is doing so well. He starts a 2 day a week Kids Day Out program on September 6th. That way he can get some social interaction and maybe some inspiration on the toliet learning front. He wants to be a big boy but is really regressing since Meghan's arrival.

We don't get to leave the house much since the weather is so hot. It is hard to get the kids out and about without worrying about them overheating.

Meghan and Johnny vote on Carrots

Meghan is not a fan............Green beans and applesause are OK but carrots are yucky!

Johnny says, "don't forget about me!"

Johnny wanted to taste the rice cereal mixed with carrots. He loves it!

He likes baby carrots but not such a big fan of the grown-up style.

Johnny's favorite tv watching chair!

I am jelly fishin'!!! His new favorite toy is a scoop out of a formula can and a $1 set of jelly sea animals.

Don't you dare take that picture!!!! I got in real trouble for this one. Johnny is being trained to walk on our backs.

Summer is almost over~School starts Wednesday!!!

Meghan has cute new little girl clothes! A lady from the church gave her this little suit.

Johnny loves to play jail under his sister's bed.

"I can make a mess just like a big boy!!!"

Sissy bought me a blue ring pop. Don't tell mommy!

What a crazy week AGAIN! I baby sat two dogs for a couple of days, had all three of my sister's kids here at one time or another, sometimes all at once. On top of all that I played raquetball every day with Teresa at TWU! I also finished up a freelance job I did putting together a 20th anniversary movie for a couple at church. It took about 20 hours with all the scanning of 212 pictures and then setting them to music. Thank God for Windows movie maker.

I thought we would get to relax this weekend but we had to repaint 2 of Tarah's walls while she went to Oklahoma with a friend and her family. I want to get her room redone ASAP. I thought it would be best to repaint before school starts. No sense killing any brain cells if we can help it. I will post a pic of the 2 new walls. One is a very light pink and one a light green. I wanted to try to lighten up and open up her room since it is so small.

Meghan is a mobile baby!!!

Weeeeee......look what I did!!! Now will mommy stop putting me on my tummy?!

Here I go......better get that camera ready.............

Well it is official....Meghan can roll over at will. She had started to scoot and we thought she would crawl before she rolled but no she suprised us Saturday by rolling over several times. This morning she woke herself up by rolling over. That should make for a fun week of sleeplessness.

Alex and Christoph help Johnny open his presents....a snake and lots of SpongeBob stuff...

Aunt Heather brought me a t-shirt that says "I'm definitely up to something!"

Yippee , more cake............

catch up posts and pictures~~~~

How many men does it take to start a propane grill? It depends on how many beers......

Johnny says "I like cake! The bigger the bite the better!"

Johnny and Alexis show off the Sponge Bob birthday hats they made........

But dad, why blow out the candle when I can put it out between my fingers and give my mom a stroke!!!
