Summer Flu season!!!

What is it with my crazy family?!?
We can't get sick when everybody else does. We have to get a severe cold on a Holiday week! This happens every summer to us. I guess we just don't do well in the allergy season and some nasty virus comes by and kicks us in the butt!

I was out for three days..........Thank God Kevin could work from home. Now both the little ones are sick. Kevin and Tarah seem to be missing the most of it.

We missed out on two great family get togethers this weekend due to illness. We are going to have to spend some serious time in Amarillo this summer to make it up to grandmom's!

They finished the season in 2nd place.........

What an awesome tournament..........the girls won their 9:30 game saturday morning. They came up against the #1 team again at 6pm on Saturday. They played one heck of a game they only lost by 2 points after holding their own inning for inning. Since they were undefeated until that point they played the same "red team" again on Sunday at 4:30. The first 2 innings were tied 1-1 and anybody that has been to a game knows that it an amazing feat. We have a 5 run cap per inning that we usually need..............The Astro's had the last at bat and got one last point in before the last out was called. So the girls had a little after stress cry and are already all pumped back up for "fall ball"............

I took some great pictures of the girls and Tarah made some great friends. I have lots of video for anyone who wants to see it.

Tarah played great again. She always gets a hit and she can really put it out there. The girl on 1st made the mistake of trying to block the base and Tarah took her out enough that it knocked the ball out of her glove and she was safe. The other team was really trying to intimadate the girls because they are all a year older and most are pretty big. She ended up scoring the first run. I am so proud of her. She made friends, she had fun and it really gave her a boost of confidedence. She is a great team player. I will post new pics after I get some rest................

Here are a couple of pics of the game. I am so excited I can't sleep. No matter what happens the rest of the weekend, I am just so glad the girls beat the team that had them flustered. The "red team" the astro's went into the tournament in 1st place. Our girls were 4th out of 4 teams. This win is a giant shot in the arm for them. They have already beat the other 2 teams before. I have spent the season preaching the "it's not if you win or lose speech" after a lot of losses. This game was amazing! To see those girls play their heart out when no one expected them to win. They were a well oiled machine. No mistakes were made, it was just two groups of girls playing to win. Thank God for title 9. They don't even know about a time not too long ago when girls didn't even get to play. It was truly the most exciting game I have ever seen............tomorrow they play at 9am and then again at either 3:15 or 5 pm. It depends on if they win or lose. I took lots of video so that she can share her joy with everyone!!!

23-20 in OT. The girls played the #1 team and beat the crap out of them!!! They played for 2 hours and were absolutely incredible. The parents were having a stroke and screaming like crazy people. It was the single most exciting game ever. They play again at 9:30am. Wish them luck!

Prayer coordinator

Well I went out on a busy limb and volunteered to be the prayer coordinator (sp?) for our church. I have been doing it for 2 weeks and the response to my new ideas have been tremendous. I am going to include the things for our family here since not everyone is on my prayer chain email list.

We are praying every day for strength and healing for Grandpa Don. He has started chemo again and hates being sick more than anything. He works way too hard to have to stop and be poisoned by his medicine. He is going to be completely healed of his cancer. I know this in my heart and my faith in God has shown me that his healing is coming very soon. Please pray with me for this man of God who has done so much for our family. Our entire church family and I am sure his own are all praying for his swift recovery. The family is going to have an incredible vaction is Colorado the first part of June. Tarah hopes she doesn't have to kiss a fish this time!

Please pray for my sister and her husband. They are both torn apart by his incarceration. Pray for his peace and safety and for her strength as she raises 3 children all alone.

I also just pray that all of our family will be healed as so many of us have health problems right now.

World's busiest family award~

What a hectic month we are having. From now until June 11th we have something scheduled almost everyday. Where o where to start......................

Mother's Day weekend was awesome. We got to spend that Saturday with Wayne and Darlene. It was a great visit. Tarah had a double header that day so she had a big cheering section. THEY WON the first game. Tarah is so good. All the other parents can't believe she has never played before. She had another perfect bunt! She got someone out at 2nd. This was their 1st true win. The second game was close but they lost after some exellent playing. Heather and Cory and Don and Fran came to cheer her on. Kevin stayed home with the kids because it was just too dang hot out there.

Sunday was Mother's Day and it was truly the best one ever. Tarah got me a really cool book on "101 secrets every cool mom knows" and Kevin bought me a beautiful watch. I got a flower at church for having the newest baby. I even got to sleep in until 8am. It was fabulous!!!!!!!!!

Tarah had another game on Tuesday night where she got a hit into the outfield and got a triple!!! I had to stay home with the babies but it was a very close game. She is missing her game Thursday night due to her trip to the capital with her advanced history class.

The end of the season tournament starts Friday night and goes through Saturday.

Little Meghan is growing like crazy I have a picture of her in her new dress that was a gift from the Tanner's. She coos and giggles. I swear she even watches TV when we are not looking. She is trying really hard to sit up. She is a whole new baby with all the smiles and laughing.





















Johnny is very independent...He dresses himself now. He has worn this glove for a week!!! But it takes it off and puts it on all by himself so that's OK with us..........

Lets see where to begin................Thunderstorms rained out Tarah's games so we finally had the make up game last night. The girls did so good! They have really matured and are controlling the ball great. Tarah bunted for the first time. It fouled out by only about a foot. Almost the perfect bunt! She still got on base with a walk {not her favorite} After a 1st inning strike out she really nailed one in the third. She has been extremely constistant with her hitting. She can really get it out there! They played the #1 team and held them point for point until the last few minutes. It was a VERY exciting game!!! The season only has a couple of weeks left. School is also out the first week of June.

We are battling allergies here. Johhny is getting hit the hardest but we are hoping it gets better soon.
