Trip to Amarillo :~)

We just got back from a great trip to Amarillo. I took the kids and my 2 nieces on a road trip this week. We left early Monday morning and came back late Wednesday night. The trip there was uneventful. We stopped and had lunch at the new rest area near Quanah. We took our time. The kids slept off and on. Even Meghan napped and played. We got to see Granny and Goldie and the whole gang there....... We spent Tuesday with my mom and the kids rode on the tractor for hours. Johnny had a great time and played with all his cousins. Meghan and Johnny both missed naps on the trip so they slept great at night. Tarah spent the day and night with us while we were there.
On the way home we drove through Plainview and saw my dad. He looks GREAT!!! It was a wonderful visit even though it was short and then we continued on Hwy. 70 across the state. What a nice hwy.........no pot holes, no traffic and lots of pretty scenery. We stopped and read historical markers and ate alot all the way home. We made great time and even got home before dark. Considering the kids spent 10 hours in the car on Wednesday it is amazing that there was no crying until 10 mins. from home. Then Meghan decided she wanted out of her dirty diaper and out of her seat.

It was one of the best trips ever. I loved getting a chance to clear my head and hug all my loved ones.

My girls, aren't they so pretty?

Meghan still sleeps swaddled in her swing during naps and swaddled in her bed at night. She is learning how to turn over though, so her easy sleep days are numbered and we will have to help her learn to sleep with wild baby arms flying around......

Meghan loves to sit up in her high chair so she can see whats going on. She has started eating cereal and is doing pretty good.

Both of my girls are so pretty. Just think in three years Tarah will be driving........

Meghan is getting big enough to enjoy all those big kid toys...........

Fun in the Sun days............

Well, to say it is hot is an understatement, so we are trying to find creative ways to cool off. Most of the time we stay indoors. It is hard to keep Johnny inside all the time so we do what we can to keep him sunburn free.

Johnny has decided he is a big boy and wants to walk every where but his little legs get tired pretty quick. We splurged a little and bought this new stroller. It makes my life much easier when it is just me and the kids............Johnny can stand and see everything or he can sit when he gets tired. It is the perfect compromise for those scary parking lots full of speeding cars.

Tarah left for Amarillo today :(

Our family got a little smaller today.........Tarah and Christoph hitched a ride with Grandpa Don to Amarillo. Tarah will be spending father's day in Colorado with the whole clan on her dad's side. Christoph is off on his annual summer trip to Grandpa John's house.

It is very quiet and I miss her so much already. I hope she has a wonderful time and catches a fish!

Meghan sits up and Johnny plays in the dirt..............

Meghan loves to sit up and play with her toys. Of course, it is still hit or miss with the grasping. She laughed for the first time on Sunday and I missed it. Grandma Fran laughed at her and she laughed back for several minutes. Everyone says it was really cute......... :( I can't seem to get a repeat performance. Tomorrow is her 4 month doctors visit.....lots of shots so she may be a little cranky for a few days.

Kevin and I built a sand box for Johnny. It is 4x4x4. He loves it. Notice the corner seats for grown-ups who can't get up and down so easy! He gets plenty of breeze and the shade canopy and walls work great. It is shaded no matter what time of day. We plan to build on a little each year. Johnny calls it his "house".

Tarah is trying to enjoy some time with her friends before she goes to Amarillo next week. Her trophy presentation is on Saturday along with an end of season party for CS4C. Plus a variety of swimming get togethers and parties. I will try to fit in some baby sitting and house work around her busy schedule. I am going to miss her so much, but I am so grateful for the school year. It has been the best year ever..........

As for the big people - I have finally got Kevin to realize he has to go to the doctor for his high blood pressure and he is going back to the gym now that Meghan is sleeping a little better.
I am very excited, I have been eating a lot more healthy stuff and have lost 10 lbs. to show for it. I hope I am on a roll.............

School's out for summer!!!!!

Tarah's last day of school was yesterday. It looks like she will end the year with great grades. She is always on the A/B honor roll. It's hard being the mom of a teenage girl. My mom is getting her revenge for all the stuff I put her through. Tarah is a great kid but she is a teenager with all the moodiness and angst that comes with it.

Johnny is in that cute adorable stage that comes after the terrible two's. He is very loving and so very smart. He is absolutely convinced he wants nothing at all to do with the bathroom training!!

Meghan is smiling and cooing and is trying to sit up. She is not happy unless she can see everything that is going on!

Kevin and I may be going out on a date tonight. If the kids cooperate............ :~)
It is Kristy's 40th b-day and there will be a party. Since we only have a few friends outside of church it will be nice to socialize with adults for a little while.
