Meghan had her allergy visit a couple of weeks ago and was put on a new inhaler and is like a new healthy wonderful child. She is sleeping better and not coughing and most of all her breathing is 100% better. Plus the best part is not having to spend almost an hour a day using the nubulizer.
Well today was Johnny's turn....He didn't like the back pin prick part. But he did great. He is only allergic to all the spring stuff like me. Grass, mountain cedar, but no food or dust mite allergy.
Johnny has been having constant strep throat and other infections and we have been fighting to keep him well. We have spent weekly and monthly visits to the ped doctor because his tonsils are completely swollen for most of a year.
The doc took a CT scan of Johnny's head today. His adnoids (sp?) are so big that they are blocking the air passage. He can't breathe through his nose and it's why he can't blow his nose. I feel terrible for all the times I havce been trying to get him to blow and we know now why it hurts. He has some infection in a few of his sinus cavities. So 2 weeks of antibiotics and one week of steriods and a consult with the ENT in a week. It looks like Johnny will be have his tonsils and adnoids out sometime after his antibiotics.
I hate the fact that I am so scared. I know he will feel so much better and that he feel like a whole new boy! It's the knocking him out being in the hospital and the few days of pain he is going to have to go through.
We are just so happy that there is finally going to be a resolution to both of our children't constant health problems. I know we are blessed with good doctors and insurance but I still feel guilty for being so nervous. Johnny had me take a picture of his back so he could see all the dots.

I want to see all the dots also. LOL
I wouldn't be surprise that some of the problem is all that polution you have to live with being so near Dallas.
Poor little guy. One thing is for sure...he WILL feel much better afterward. Joshua and Bailey both had that done, and Joshua had to get his adnoids done twice, because he was only 18 months old when he had it done the 1st time, so they grew back. It's the going to sleep that is the worst, but the pain isn't as bad for kids as adults, and by the end of the day you can hardly tell they had surgery. I will keep him and you in my prayers...let us all know when it is going to take place.
LOVE YOU ALL!!!
